Charles Elliot Tilton's Education came from Prof Dyer H Sanborn of Norwich University, he also did some Gold mining In California during the Gold rush Era. In 1850 Partnership with W. S. Ladd general mercantile pursuits after his Partnership he started a banking house of Ladd and Tilton Portland Oregon. He Retired In 1880 and became the pillar of the Community in Tilton New Hampshire his contributions encluded a site for Soldiers Home, the Tilton NH Memorial Arch, the Tilton Town Hall and Fair Grounds and many other adornments do to his Generosity. Charles Elliot Tilton also Invested large sums of money in Real Estate and Busines Enterprises. he was also director of Concord and Montreal Rail Roads.
Charles married Louisa Peabody Tilton Wife #1, daughter of Jeremiah Tilton and Nancy Carter, in 1856. (Louisa Peabody Tilton Wife #1 was born in 1827 in Northfield NH and died in 1877 in Tilton NH.)
Charles next married Olive Geneveive Eastman, daughter of Franklin John Eastman and Lucy W Unknown, in 1881. (Olive Geneveive Eastman was born in 1857 in Little Town Grafton NH and died in 1901 in Unknown.)
