Rosella Tilton born Jan 1 1830 was married at age 15 to Abraham Wood. After moving to Iowa, Abraham died leaving her with small children. Rosella Tilton Wood moved to Dent County, MO where on Sept 17 1860 she married Benjamin Head Clark (My Lineage comes from this marriage.
Benjamin Clark served in the Union Army from Jan 1 1864 until he mustered out July 18 1865 when he enlisted he gave his residence as Lawn Ridge, Marshall County, Illinois. (Lawn Ridge was 22 miles North of Peoria, Illinois).
Rosella Tilton Wood Clark had a twin brother, Roswell Spencer Tilton. The Tilton twins were born January 6 1830 in Oneida County New York. The family moved to Madison County, Ohio. Roswell Spencer Tilton enlisted in thw Union Army at Winterset, Madison County, Indiana on Nov 15 1861. He was mustered out Nov 15 1864 at Davenport, Indiana (**Conjecture: I believe Rosella Wood Tilton first husband, Abraham, was probably a brother of Persis Ann Wood Tilton, Roswell's Wife). After living in Dent County, MO, Andrew County, MO, Roswell Spencer Tilton moved his family to Mitchell County, Kansas where they lived and are now buried at Pleasant View Cemetery.
Benjam Head Clark and Rosella Tilton Wood Clark lived in Dent County MO, Andrew County MO, Seneca, Nemaha County, Kansas. They moved back to Andrew County MO, and lived in Mitchell County Kansas 1878 to 1880, then in Rooks County in 1880. They hamesteaded in Hobart Township, Rooks County Kansas, in 1884, after living Rooks County Kansa for several years,they moved to Downs, Osborne County Kansas.
