John, his wife Rebecca Terry and their nine children, moved to MonmouthCounty,
New Jersey from Gravesend, Long Island in 1691. Several of theirdescendants
still live in Monmouth County today. John owned 29 acres of land atGravesend in
1683 (he appeared on the tax list). John and Rebecca were stalwartQuakers.

Proved Apr. 17, 1704.

Gives: "unto my fon John Tillton fiue fhillings"; "vnto my fon Samuell
Tillton eighty-fiue Acr-- of vpland Lying at "the North Eaft end of myLand
& Joyn-- to it Runing Wefterly as itt was Layed out by John Ree-- Alfo.....
"unto him three Acres of Meadow Lying at the eaft end of my Meadow thewhole
Containeing eighty eig-- Acres to him "& his heires .... Allfo ...... vnto
my Son Samuell Tillton one Cow & An Iron pott & A ffether "Bed" &c.;"vnto my
Daughter Sarah Tillton one Cow"; "vnto my Loueing Wife Rebeca TilltonAfter

Brothers Daniell & Thomas Tillton fiueteen pound to each of them And if my
"fon Peter fhould dey before as is before mentioned then my will is thatmy
fon Daniell fhall pay thirty pounds when he "Cometh off Age vnto my fon
Thomas Tillton."

Residue of personal estate "vnto my Loueing wife Rebecca Tillton whome I
make full & fole Executrix ... & "After the defeafe of my felfe and mywife to be
Equally diuided Amongft my Chilldren." "..... that my Loueing "ffriends
Thomas Hillborn & John Lippincott will be helpfull to my wife to fee thismy
will performed."

John next married Mary Wife 1 Tilton (Coates). (Mary Wife 1 Tilton (Coates) was born in 1644 and died in 1673.)
