Born late 1700s. d.1866. h/o Cynthia (Thompson) Tilton. Abiel was from New Hampshire, Cynthia was from Massachusetts, but they met and married in Canada. f/o 10 children: 4 daughters, and 6 sons including Fred Tilton. Abiel established a brick kiln after the move to Danville in 1836. He was a contractor and builder, and constructed the dam across Vermilion for the mill built by Amos Williams. 723. Donated $30 to the Civil War fund of $8,000.
Abiel married Cynthia Thompson, daughter of Edward Thompson and Prudence (Unknown)Thompson, in 1812 in Danville Caledonia VT. (Cynthia Thompson was born in 1790 in Massachusetts and died in 1838 in Vermillion Co Illinois.)
