Sheiks & Island) & Lilly HALL; witn D.C. McKERCHER, Montreal & Lucy B. SHERWOOD, Ottawa, 22 Aug 1925, Sheiks Island. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Info Received from Mike O Carpenter on his grandfather being buried and dieing in West Palm Beach Florida and his father can be read below. What I know is that my Grandfather George Carpenter was first married to Amy Tilton and my Father b. 1930 is Everett Carpenter, their son. I believe Everett was born in Cornwall as well. My Grandfather lived with us until his death in 1978 I believe, and was buried along side his 2nd or third wife Aida in west Palm Beach Florida. Everett is still alive and lives in Rochester NY. He was married to my mother but was divorced from her in the 1960's shortly after I was born in 1966. Unfortunately due to being remarried he has become estranged from his 3 kids, Thomas, myself and my sister Amy (named after Amy Tilton). We all were close until he was remarried in 1977, and since that time the relationship slowly broke down until the late 1990's when only my sister Amy kept in contact. Today we only recently determined his whereabouts, confirmed he is alive, and being cared for by his second wife's children. I found the Tilton family information in a search to determine if I could find out when my father and grand father left Canada and whether or not I, as a direct Canadian descendant of a once Canadian citizen (or before 1947 a British subject), had any possible claim to being Canadian. It all seems to boil down to when they were naturalized here in the states whether before or after 1947. So any information you may have regarding when George left Canada would be greatly helpful. Thanks cousin Carl, and safe travels!
