General Notes: Mrs. Mary E Tilton., age 79, widow of Enoch D Tilton, who died 25 years ago, died Sunday afternoon, November 17, 1929, at 1:30 o'oclock in the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. C. Malone of Burgettstown. Her death, which was caused by pneumonia, followed an illness of just four weeks. Since the death of her husband, Mrs. Tilton had been making her home with her daughters and was visiting Mrs. Malone at the time she was taken ill. she was an active member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of East Liverpool, Ohio. She leaves the following children: Mrs. A. J. Burns, Frankfort Springs; Mrs. S. C. Malone, Burgettstown; Mrs. Samuel Thomas Holbrook; Mr P. M. Pugh, Rochester; Mrs. Francse Sayer, East Liverpool, Ohio; Clark R Tilton, Midway; M. H. Tilton, Caldwell, Ohio, C. S. Tilton, East Liverpool, Ohio, and Grover S Tilton, Sewickley. A sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Burroughs of Washington, and 22 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren also survive. Short Funeral services were held In the Malone Home Monday evening at 7:30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. R. C. Sutton, pastor of the Burgettstown United Presbyterian Church. Further services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock In the home of her Daughter, Mrs. A. J. Burns at Frankfort Springs Conducted By Rev. Mr. West, Pastor of the East Liverpool Methodist Episcopal Church. The Interment was In the Mill Creek Cemetery. Mary married Enoch D Tilton, son of Rev Morgan Tilton and Priscilla Vancamp, in 1869 in Green Penn. (Enoch D Tilton was born in 1848 in Washington Penn and died on an unknown date.) |
