152. OWEN HILLMAN, (Benjamin,3-2 Johnl), b. 4 Jan. 1765; res. C., master mariner. He m. POLLY NORTON (583) 20 Aug. 1795, who was b. 1774 and d. 1 Feb. 1840. He d. 13 Apr. 1835 [in Chilmark.] [They are both buried in Chilmark Cemetery.] [

400. SUSAN, b. 7 June 1797; m. BENJAMIN S. TILTON (352) 24 Oct. 1822.
401. WALTER, b. 6 Dec. 1798: m. ADELINE NORTON (251) 23 Mch. 1820. [Walter Hillman sailed on the ship Martha of New Bedford during 1817-18, the ship Milwood of New Bedford throughout 1818-21, the ship Maria Theresa of New Bedford in 1822-24, and as captain of the ship Ann Alexander of New Bedford from 1825-28. Capt. Walter Hillman died in 1877. Adeline died of dropsy in Tisbury on 20 Apr 1868. They are both buried at Lambert's Cove Cemetery. They had a son Walter Hillman (b. 9 Jan 1829 in Tisbury) and a daughter Carrie Norton Hillman (b.19 Mar 1836 in Tisbury; m. Jason Luce on 25 Nov 1862 in Tisbury.)]
402. POLLY, b. (1800); m. SHUBAEL NORTON (250) 21 Feb. 1828. [She died 28 Oct. 1857 in Tisbury of lung fever. They are buried at Lambert's Cove Cemetery.]
403. OWEN, b. 19 Jan. 1804; m. CHARLOTTE TILTON (359) 16 June 1828. They were the parents of Hon. Beriah Tilton Hillman, for many years Register of Probate for Dukes Co., who was b. 28 Jan. 1843 and is still active in his official duties. Mr. Hillman served during the Civil War and is now resident at Edgartown. The author is indebted to him for continuous courtesies of his office in searching records. Mr. Hillman married Abby B. Pierce of Woonsocket, R. I. and their two sons, Captain Horace Owen and Arthur Beriah, now living in E., are the last male representatives in their generation, of this once numerous family on the Vineyard. Capt. Horace Owen Hillman married Henrietta Norton, and they have one son, Owen Hillman; b. 29 Dec. 1909 in from the emigrant, John, to perpetuate the name in the years to come.
