Irene N Tilton was the daughter of Frank Tilton and Anna Marie "Myra" Mathieu of Colosse. She died at the age of 17.

One of the saddest cases that has ever occurred in our community was the death of Miss Irene Tilton, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tilton. She had been away from home several weeks visiting friends in Pensylvania and New York. Came home and a severe case of diphtheria developed. After two weeks of the best of care she died on Sunday evening, Aug. 18, and was buried Monday morning in the Parish Cemetery. She was a lovely girl of 17 years, just blooming into womanhood, and all knew her only to love her. The grief of the parents knew no bounds. Our people all share with them in their sorrow.
