He was a carpenter and millwright. Apprenticed to John Hood, his time was transferred to his brother, Peter in Connecticut when John Hood went to England. Step-father paid John Hood's wife 30 shillings for the transfer and Peter sent him back to Hampton. He served in the Militia of Wells, NH during the Indian wars.
