son of Roger & Sarah Eastman of Salisbury
moved to Hadley, Connecticut abt 1682 after the King Philip War
he was a prisoner of the French in Canada for three years and settled on his grandfather Tilton's estate
in Hadley after his return.
Joseph married Mary Tilton, daughter of Peter Tilton and Mrs. Elizabeth Tilton, in 1681. (Mary Tilton was christened on 18 Feb 1644 in Windsor, Hartford, Connecticut, United States and died on 4 Apr 1692.)
