"Family tradition" says he m. Mary Claghorn, dau of Col. George Claghorn who built the "Constitution"
and that she is the mother of most of his 20 children. He m. (2) Wealthea Makepeace, daughter of
Thomas and Charity Makepeace of Taunton. Probable children are on p. 437
p 523 says that Shubal Claghorn had a Mary b. 1731, m. John Skiffe
Among his children was John, m. Mary Makepeace (see p 439)
