Almond Ellsworth Sperry was the second of four known children of Marcus Ruggles Sperry (b. 1833 at Litchfield County, Connecticut; died: c1863-1870) and Louisa Melissa Pickford (b. c1834 in England, died: p1870), who married 11 Nov 1852 at Edwards County, Illinois. It is not known when or where Marcus or Melissa died or where they are buried.

Almond married Laura (went by Lora) H. Robinson (1857-1890) on 03 Sep 1875 at Edwards County, Illinois. Almond and Lora were the parents of nine known children, namely:

3. Lee Morris Sperry (1881-1941)
4. Emma Caroline Sperry Gates (1881-1935)
5. Aaron Robinson Sperry (1884-1944)

After Lora died, Almond remarried to Rachel E. Baird (1852-1919) on 13 Nov 1891. It is not thought that Almond and Rachel had any children together.
