General Notes:
James L Tilton moved to Brown Co from Ohio with his parents at the age five years old, Making the trip in a Coverd Wagon. Operated a Store in New Bellsville, Brown Co. Was Van Baren tp. Trustee for four years at the age of 28, later was Elected County Treasurer for two Terms, from 1889 through 1892. In 1890 he moved to Nashville and Operated a Store, later Operated a Flowering Mill and had a Financial Interest In the Timber Buseness. In 1908 three Years after the Nashville Bank was founded, he was made a Director and in 1910 became Vice President. From 1911 Until his Death he was President.

• Travel: By covered wagon from Coshocton County, 1856, Virgina County. In 1856 Lewis and his family travel by covered wagon from Coshocton County to settel in Virgin County. And they had 6 childern
James married Sarah Jane Moore, daughter of Benjamin Moore and Rebecca Breech, in 1873 in Brown Co Indiana. (Sarah Jane Moore was born in 1850 in Indiana, died in 1921 in Nashville Indiana and was buried Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus Indiana.)
