General Notes:
Note for: Catherine Tilton, 26 Nov 1814 - 21 Oct 1894 Index Individual Note: Name DATE:Historical and Genealogical Miscellany, early settlers of NewJersey and their de cendants, John Stillwell, New York, 1932. VOL V, pg181 Dear John Tilton,
You have a Walter S. Conklin listed as a son of Solomon Conklin & Catherine Tilton (on your WorldConnect site). I was going to write and suggest that should be Warren S. Conklin - but you don't have any dates - so maybe Walter was born after 1850 & was a brother of Warren.
My interest in this family, is that Solomon Conklin & Catherine/Catharine were living in the same dwelling as my great-great-great-grandparents, Nathaniel & Henrietta Holmes, in 1850. They can be found in the 1850 Census, 4th Ward of Brooklyn, Kings County, N.Y., Pages 332-333. I can send you a copy, as a 102 KB gif. I think there might be a family connection between the 2 households - but I don't see it.
Catherine Tilton, must have been Solomon Conklin's 2nd wife, as he has 4 children before his marriage in 1845.
In 1880, Catherine (Tilton) Conklin, is widowed, & living in Middleton, Monmouth County, New Jersey, with her widowed mother, Catherine (Hendrickson) Tilton. Also living in Middleton, (in a different dwelling), is Warren S. Conklin, his wife, Sarah E., & son George M., & 3 farm hands. Those census entries can be found at the Latter Day Saints familysearch site - or I can send them as web pages.
I don't know Henrietta Holmes' maiden name, maybe she's a half sister of Catherine (Tilton) Conklin?
