Susan Jane Harper Tilton was born 27 July 1825 in Fauquier County Virginia. Daughter of John Harper and Susana Cox Harper. When she was a child the family moved to Coshocton County Ohio. She met and married Laban Jasper Tilton on 14 Jan 1841 in Coshocton Co, Ohio. Shortly after moving to Ogle Co Illinois, they raised a large family of 10 children. She was a devoted wife and mother. The family lived in Ogle Co, Ill the rest of their life. She passed away in her home in Chana, Ogle, IL on 9 March 1904 and was buried in the Washington Grove Cemetery.
