Pvt. Arthur E. Tilton
Served with Co.G 11th Kansas Vol. Cav. during the Civil war of 1861-65. He died while on active duty in Missouri on Feb. 18th 1863.

He is also listed under the name of "Tilten" in this cyber cemetery,


Missouri Patriot Thursday, Sept 14 1865"We have been furnished by Capt R.B. Owen A.Q.M. at this place with the following list of deceased Federal soldiers buried at Curran in Stone County. (Crane Creek on Smith, Mitchell and Gardner farms) Marion Stewart Co I 1st Ark Cav J.E. Cole Co I 11th Kan Vol Jacob Mitchell Co G 11th Kan Vol Joseph Laughlin Co D 11th Kan Vol A.A. Tilton Co G 11th Kan Vol There are six others buried at the same place but the marks on the head boards are so obliterated that their names cannot be deciphered."Bodies were exhumed in 1867 and moved to Springfield National Cemetery Interment log at Springfield National Cemetery held in library archives at Wilson's Creek National Battlefield indicates Arthur was 22 years old when he died.
