Sergeant in the Revolutionary War. He was drafted 6 times to serve in the New Jersey militia, and once he enlisted for a period of 6 months in the "State Troops of New Jersey" (Continental Line). He fought under General Washington in the battles of Germantown, PA, and Monmouth, NJ. All 7 tours of duty, making a Revolutionary War service of 2 years, were spent as a Private for 1 ½ years, and ½ year as an Orderly Sergeant.
After the close of the Revolutionary War, he lived in Hunterdon County …
