  General Notes:

A Headstone for Abraham was noted as existing at this Cemetery by Walter Davis In his book the history of Phebe Tilton, sometime prior to the 1940's. The Inscription on the hesdstone was recorded in that book. However, the headstone has since disappeared. According to the History of the Tilton family written by Francis Tilton, the Cemetery is situated on land formerly owned by Abraham Tilton.
Inscription reads: Here Lyeth ye body of Abraham Tilton, who died March ye 28, 1728, 90 years of age.

His "son in law" [step-son] Abraham Tilton was apprenticed 5 Dec. 1653,to John Hood, weaver , of Lynn; whose wife Elizabeth, acting under apower of attorney from her husband then in En gland, released theapprentice 10 Nov. 1656, although she had previously sent him to Peter Tilton, living in Connecticut. [Norf. Rec. I.] Samuel Tilton, another ofthe children of "my la te wife Susanna," received a tract of land fromMr. Shaw April 6, 1660, and receipted in ful l for his portion 12 June,1661, and for that of his brother Daniel Tilton 13 July, 1663.

Abraham next married Mary Wife 1 Tilton (Cram), daughter of John Cram and Hester Or Ester White, on 25 Jan 1665 in Hampton , N.H. (Mary Wife 1 Tilton (Cram) was born in 1646 in Hampton , N.H. and died in 1670 in Wells York Maine.)
